006 – Santa Maria dell’Anima

Today’s journey was only an hour away, a rather refreshing change of pace (literally). Plus the studentToday’s station church: Santa Maria dell’Anima. Just a stone’s throw away from Piazza Navona, it has historically been the national church of the German community in Rome and was closely linked with the Habsburgs of Austria.

The students from the college arrived this week, so I invited them to attend. There were a brave six that made the 6am hike. Proud of them. Not the others. You can tell them that.

St. John Lateran is tomorrow’s station church. I hope to make it out there! If not, I will attend Santo Spirito with the whole group, followed by the Angelus with the Pope. Until next time!
