002 – Mass with Papa Frank at St. Peter’s Basilica

A great perk of jet lag is the ability to be up naturally at 7am full of energy. That happened today, so I decided to head to St. Pete’s for mass with Pope Francis. Needed a ticket, didn’t have one, snuck in. Still got it.

Pray for the Pope! (Didn’t have to to talk shop with him this time).

It was a special treat to be there today, because starting tomorrow (02/14), Bernini’s magnificent Baldachin (the canopy like structure covering the main altar) will be undergoing its first ever restoration and will be covered for one year. I was lucky to grab one last glimpse of it!

This photo is from last semester. One of my favorites!

The flight over was smooth and exhausting! I was able to snap this beautiful picture right before falling back into a deep sleep.

Beautiful Dublin.

Unfortunately, the pictures are not the highest quality when uploaded. If you would like to see the original, just let me know and I’ll send it your way. Until next time. Go 49ers!  Cheers!
